Stunning Kitchen by Evo Design Center

After almost 20 years, Robin, a master chef cooking in a tiny, unorganized and just plain ugly kitchen of his own, and his wife, Roberta, decided it was time to do something about it. So they set out to do an entire first floor renovation on this Flushing home. After using Perry Michael Reinstein, CKD of Evo Design Center for previous projects, they knew that he would develop not only a great looking custom design, but also a design that would incorporate all of his family’s needs. The first parameters of this project were to incorporate a commercial stove and a large island to facilitate a cooking prep area and maintain a good work flow. Unfortunately, the area best suited for this was narrow and had multiple travel paths adjoining; so the challenges began. After designing began and room layouts were sketched, the final puzzle piece took some time. “It came to me in a dream,” said Perry Michael. By simply moving the rear door to the other side of the room and integrating the chimney behind cabinets, it separated the cooking space from the travel paths and also allowed for a washer/dryer on this house level. Using Evo Design Center’s Versailles Custom Cabinetry, they were able to include very intricate details and still have top quality finish for real use and longevity. Using Cherry wood with a light frosted stain brought out the beautiful grain of the cabinetry. Blue pearl granite, contemporary hardware and inset glass tiles really gave this transitional kitchen a very warm and welcoming feel. The rest of the spaces were finished off with complimenting details that gave this family not only a new place to live, but also a new life. “Having my restaurant featured on Emeril’s show was a great experience, but cooking in my own kitchen is the best experience of all,” Robin exclaims. “We can’t thank Perry Michael and his entire staff enough.”
